4R Group are seeking an enthusiastic individual with experience in agricultural land-spreading contract management who can be adaptable and flexible to work across a range of contracts and services.

At 4R, our ethos is to promote the use of sustainable sources of crop nutrients on farm, whilst cycling vital organic matter back into our nation’s soils. We believe that organics recycling is key to achieving numerous government objectives, including;


  • Promoting the waste hierarchy and the circular economy
  • Promoting soil health and soil carbon
  • Reducing carbon emissions associated with crop fertilisation
  • Reducing costs on farm
  • Managing land in accordance with stewardship and phasing in of ELMs


The successful candidate will have an agricultural background and have excellent relationship management skills to effectively communicate to farmers, contractors, customers and colleagues. The individual must be self-motivated, be able to work effectively alone and work closely within the 4R operational team. Excellent time and resource management skills is a must. Some sales experience would also be an advantage. The role will require frequent travel, mainly in the Gloucestershire/South Wales region, comprising of farm visits, events, field-based and office-based work.


Location: Office or home-based
Contract: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Duration: Permanent

Travel: Regular UK travel, with significant time out on farms


Main duties will include;

  • Day to day management of land-spreading contracts and services, including farm liaison and sub-contractor management
  • Carrying out field surveys, including site walkovers for risk assessment, access arrangements, soil sampling and analysis
  • Arranging bulk deliveries to farm and managing access, stockpiling, and spreading arrangements
  • Day to day liaison and communication with producers, including compost sites, AD plants and other industrial sites
  • Maintain compliance and thorough, up-to-date record keeping and work closely with Compliance Controller and 4R administrative and finance teams
  • Operational support and guidance to a wide range of projects across the 4R Group
  • Reporting to General Manager


Preferred skills and experience required;

  • Flexible and adaptable work ethic
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the agricultural sector, either farming, in sales or contract management
  • Experience in organics recycling would be a strong advantage, but full training will be provided for the right candidate
  • IT proficient
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage and work independently and/or in a team environment
  • Full Clean UK Driving License
  • FACTS qualified and/or BASIS registered/WAMITAB and/or IOSH would be an advantage
