This raises the pH to a level that effectively destroys pathogens and harmful bacteria, producing a safe, treated product suitable for land application.
In line with the Safe Sludge Matrix, there are two recognised standards of treatment: Conventionally Treated and Enhanced Treated. Our liming service is designed to achieve either standard, depending on your requirements.
4R Group provides both fixed and mobile lime treatment plants complete with lime silos and experienced operators to water companies across the UK. Our philosophy is: “slow and steady” rather than high volume throughput as experience has taught us that this is the best way to minimise the potential for odour generation and aggravating neighbours. Once operational we will typically treat up to 250 tonnes of biosolids per day with our mobile units installed and operational in 1 day and our fixed units taking 2 or 3 days.
In addition to lime treatment, we also offer a landfinding service to support the sustainable reuse of treated biosolids, providing a fully integrated end-to-end solution.
